Peer Coaches

The overall goal of this project is to provide a high level of academic support to students who are enrolled in the entry level courses in the Department of Mathematics, Science and Informatics. The intent is to assist them in gaining the academic foundation needed for success in these courses, and for success in subsequent courses in the respective disciplines.

In order to reach this goal, it is expected that Peer Coaches will:

  • Enhance the quality of students’ in-classroom experiences by providing assistance to the course instructor, e.g. by monitoring student groups, or by assisting students individually
  • Assist students with technology concerns and other course related concerns
  • Provide students with assistance with certain out-of-classroom assignments and projects
  • Provide instructors with feedback on students’ progress
