Degree Requirements - 48 semester hours

I. Core Rehabilitation Courses: Courses must be taken prior to beginning Applied Practice sequence
  • RHAB 602: Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling (3 hrs)
  • COUN 606: Psychological Helping Skills (3 hrs)
  • COUN 625: Case Management (3 hrs)
  • COUN 605: Group Techniques and Procedures (3 hrs)
  • COUN 612: Counseling Theory (3 hrs)
  • RHAB 612: Medical, Functional, and Psychosocial Aspects of Disability (3 hrs)

Total: 18 hours

II. Required courses that can be taken concurrently with Applied Practice Sequence

  • COUN 601: Career and Vocational Guidance (3 hrs)
  • COUN 613: Cultural Perspectives in Counseling (3 hrs)
  • COUN 614: Life Span Development (3 hrs)
  • COUN 617: Individual Analysis and Testing (3 hrs)
  • COUN 621: Research and Program Evaluation (3 hrs)
  • COUN 608: Psychological Aspects of Substance Abuse (3 hrs)
  • COUN 604: Psychopathology (3 hrs)

Total: 21 hours

III. Applied Practice Sequence 

  • RHAB 619: Practicum in Rehabilitation Counseling (3 hrs)
  • RHAB 620: Internship I: Rehabilitation Counseling (3 hrs)
  • RHAB 621: Internship II: Rehabilitation Counseling (3 hrs)

Total: 9 hours
